LSU AgCenter• Jan. 5, 2022: Evangeline Parish Rice and Soybean Production School
Crawfish Barn, 1789 Mayeauxville Rd., Ville Platte, Louisiana. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. The program will begin at 8 a.m. with various LSU AgCenter specialists covering topics related to rice, soybean and crawfish production. Topics will include 2021 rice production overview and looking into 2022, 2022 recommended rice varieties, rice disease management, herbicide recommendations, rice insect management, market outlook for rice and soybeans, crawfish production and soybean production. A meal will be provided. This year’s program will offer a recertification of any Private Pesticide Applicator who needs recertification for this year. They will need to attend the ENTIRE meeting from 8 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and pay the $25 fee to the La. Department of Agriculture and $15 fee to the LSU AgCenter. MUST BE TWO SEPARATE PAYMENTS (once check to LSU AgCenter for $15 and one check to LDAF for $25, NO CASH will be accepted (NO EXCEPTIONS); all payments must be check or money order – agenda

LSU AgCenter• Jan. 6, 2022: Acadia Parish LSU AgCenter Annual Agriculture Production Meeting
The Acadia Parish LSU AgCenter Extension Office (157 Cherokee Dr. in Crowley). The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. with various LSU AgCenter specialists covering topics related to rice, soybean and crawfish production. The Acadia Parish LSU AgCenter will host private pesticide recertifications for those who are in need of recertifying. The first private pesticide recertification will begin at 1 p.m. on Jan. 6 and should conclude at 2:30 p.m. We will also host another private pesticide recertification on Feb. 22, and this one will begin at 9 a.m. and should conclude at 10:30 a.m.. You must be present for the full 90-minute session to be recertified. The cost for the private pesticide recertification will be $25 with check payable to LDAF and $15 with check payable to LSU AgCenter; you must pay with two checks. If you are attending a pesticide recertification, please show up 20-30 minutes prior to the start of the recertification to get registered; this will allow us to start the recertification program at the designated time. The meeting will feature a general session, followed by commodity-specific break-out sessions. It will end with a hosted luncheon. Some portions of the conference will also be available online. The general session will be held at the Fowler Center Riceland Hall, ASU Campus, Jonesboro, Arkansas. The break-out sessions and lunch will be held at the First National Bank Arena.
