Gowan acquires distribution rights to Ricestar HT herbicide from Bayer

ricestar logoGowan Co. LLC has entered into an agreement with Bayer AG to acquire the exclusive distribution rights to Bayer’s post-emergent rice herbicide, Ricestar HT.

The agreement gives Gowan rights to the supply and supplemental distribution of the herbicide, effective Sept. 1, with all commercial sales and marketing responsibilities in the United States transferring from Bayer to Gowan, according to a news release.

Ricestar HT provides broad-spectrum grass control with tankmix flexibility on all rice hybrids and varieties excluding short-grain and aromatic. It is registered in Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee and Texas, and is labeled for the control of sprangletop, barnyardgrass, broadleaf signalgrass and fall panicum.

The herbicide contains the active ingredient, fenoxaprop-p-ethyl, a Weed Science Society of America Group 1 ACCase.
