The 2021 Rice Field Day is coming Aug. 20 to a device near you! The recent rise in COVID-19 cases around the state prompted the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture to move this year’s rice field day online.

But just because the university can’t present in person doesn’t mean its experts can’t bring the latest rice research and recommendations directly to you!

The university will have presentations on weed and insect management recommendations, rice breeding updates, irrigation best practices and more.

Speakers include:

Breeding: Xueyan Sha, Christian de Guzman

Pathology: Yeshi Wamishe

Agronomy: Jarrod Hardke

Soil Fertility: Trent Roberts

Insects: Nick Bateman, Gus Lorenz, Ben Thrash

Irrigation: Chris Henry

Weeds: Jason Norsworthy, Tommy Butts

The presentations will be available for viewing at https://aaes.uada.edu/events/2021-field-days/rice/.
