California RES sets Rice Field Day for Aug. 29

The California Rice Experiment Station in Biggs, in partnership with the California Rice Research Foundation and the University of California, will host its annual Rice Field Day Aug. 29.

The program begins at 8:30 a.m. with a general session that includes the foundation’s annual membership meeting, followed by the Rice Research Trust Report and California Rice Industry Award.

Two field tours run from 9:30 a.m. until noon. One will will emphasize progress in rice variety improvement and disease and insect control whereas the other will highlight weed management.

Lunch will follow at noon. An updated program will be posted later on the foundation’s website, https://www.crrf.org.

The research station is located at 955 Butte City Highway (Highway 162), west of Highway 99 and north of Biggs.
